Riverside Schools may be small, but we’re large in heart and pride.

Riverside_Thermometer_PRIDE.png

Ours is a rural school district within a tri-community area that has deep roots and history along the Nishnabotna River.

Since 1993, when area schools combined to become Riverside, our communities have worked together to build a positive culture that stretches into our classrooms, out on the playing field, and throughout our STEM, fine arts, and other programs.

Let's show our Riverside PRIDE!

Through donations from individuals, families, and businesses, our school district is working to make the facility improvements we need to support a safe and high-quality environment for our students. With these improvements, we’re making a commitment to keep building the legacy of Riverside Schools.

These projects will be completed through a combination of school district funds, private donations, and foundation dollars.

We’re also grateful for the in-kind donations we receive, including materials and volunteer hours from our partners throughout the community.

No work will begin on these projects until we have 100 percent of the funds needed to move forward.

We’re taking a phased approach to these projects.

Completed in summer 2023, Phase 1 projects included a new Riverside welcome sign, a We R Riverside donor recognition wall, a digital marquee sign, parking lot improvements, landscaping and repairs to the baseball and softball fields, and adding a retaining wall and landscaping for the safe room.

The Phase II Capital Campaign cash goal is now $566,000, down from $870,000. Much of this has to do with our communities and a number of local farmers who have stepped in to assist with the football field portion of the project which has created a great deal of savings.

So far, we have raised 61% of the funds needed for Phase II and its Addendum.

A special thanks to those who have made savings possible:

Football Field:

  • Brad Forristall, Nick Allen, Chris Fox, Gary Wax, Troy Pedersen, Mark Jeppesen, Eric McCready, and the city of Oakland for their manual labor and lending equipment to make it happen

  • Jerry Pierce and Pierce Pump in Oakland for their work on the irrigation system

  • Henry Well in Oakland for installing the wells to water our facility

Concession Stand:

  • Larry Hackett and Hackett Construction
